Never Permanently, at most for a week on goob and wizden for mistakes
Detailed Questions
What role do you think game admins serve on our servers?
They Improve the player experience by both assisting players with their problems, both their own and with others, and dealing with problematic individuals in the server, utilizing their knowledge and admin tools to do so.
Why do you want to become an administrator for SS14?
I’ve been playing Goobstation and Wizden for almost 2 years now, and i would like to improve the experience for the new and current players by mantaining a good experience in the servers
What are you primarily interested in doing as an admin?
i’d Love to respond to NTR and New players, as i do have quite a good knowledge of both lore and mechanics on ss14. I’d Try to Improve the Roleplay of the Scenarios im in, rather than reduce it.
What are you least interested in doing as an admin?
Its hard to think of something i Wouldn’t be interested at this point, i’d have to experience it first hand to get a hand of what would incomodate me.
How do you feel about the current roleplay status on the servers?
For me, the current roleplay experience of goob ranges from LRP- in the Alpha server, while its MRP- on Basileus, it has quite a focus on the mechanics of the game, and while it does need to be improved at times, the current state of basileus has its charm compared to other servers
Other than banning problematic players, what admin actions do you believe have the biggest positive impact?
The biggest impact an admin can have other than banning people is his interaction with the community and players in and out of the server, for example, we have THC going down in rounds as NCT to teach new players the mechanics of the game and help around.
Have you ever had a good experience with the game or a game admin? If so, what was it?
Mostly with THC, Boggle and Monk, as MRP is my current most played server, not only on events but also on the interactions when i am ghosted or dead, a lot of discussion about the game mechanics and balance, as long as what funny things happened on the server
Have you ever had a negative experience in the game or with a game admin? If so, what, if anything, would you do to prevent other players from experiencing this?
in contrast to the example above of THC going into station as a NCT to teach people, we used to have JVNE who would go down as “NCT” ( Centcom officer with CQC, Amnestics and guns ) and actually affect preety much every round she participated in.
Scenario Questions
Scenario 1
It is the start of the round. There are 60 players on the server. The game mode is traitors, traitors have not been selected yet. There are three players who decided to observe the round instead of join it orbiting you. Two of them are encouraging you to “do something funny”.
Honestly, i woudnt intervene inside the round just because another player requested it with no justifiable reason, i would tell them to join thunderdome and at max, do a small gimmick in there satisfy them a bit.
Scenario 2
This scenario takes place on LRP. The Head of Security has decided to coup the Captain. The Head of Personnel agrees with the Head of Security and has taken up arms in case it is necessary to aid in effecting the arrest of the Captain. The Captain is hiding with the Quartermaster in the cargo shuttle to avoid the Clown who has stolen the captains saber as a non-antag. There are five people named in this scenario. Please describe what actions, if any, you would take in relation to each, and why.
The HOS could be justified on the coup, from maybe Breach of SOP/Rules, and as long as it is in fact justified (Probally also a report to CentCom, by him or the NTR beforehand), otherwise it could warrant admin action depending on the severity of the situation.
HOP can agree with the HOS on the coup, but he Shouldnt be arming himself, unless his life is at danger, much less assist the arrest itself, as he is not a security officer and should be reprimanded by the own players, and ahelp if needed.
The Captain and the QM dont seem to have done anything wrong in this scenario, i would need more context as to why the coup happened in the first place to decide if captain needs admin intervention.
The Clown is Self-Antagging if there is no prior reason to steal the captain’s Saber on this scenario, i would ask him why he would do such a thing, and ahelp accordingly
Scenario 3
You are ahelping a player about an issue. The player has no prior noted issues. A few days earlier, an admin had told you that this type of situation should result in a temporary ban for a first offense, and you are confident that this situation is not substantially different from the type that admin was describing. During the ahelp, another admin pings you on Discord with a link to the ongoing ahelp and tells you to just indefinitely ban them and make them appeal. Excluding trialmins and headmins, all admins are equally “ranked”. A headmin is not currently available.
As the admin in charge of the current Ahelp, i would go with the Temporary ban, as it was the apropriate punishment for the situation, unless a headmin said something, according to the notes and situation at hand.
Scenario 4
A brand new player has joined, chosen cargo tech, and instantly rushes to get satchel charges and other salvage gear. How do you act, if at all?
i would start observing him for an actual reason to do so, for example, participating in Lavaland explorations or space mining, if that isnt the case, i’d wait for either him to try and use those explosives and stop him before hand, and he would be a blatant raider in this case and punished accordingly
Scenario 5
A security officer, on code blue, spots a mime breaking into EVA, in response, he shoots the mime with lethal force then takes him to medical, in cuffs. How do you act, if at all, and to whom?
The Security officer commited a blatant case of Over-Escalation, as long as the mime was not a Confirmed Antag that warranted a Kill on Sight (Magical antags)
Scenario 6
A chief engineer has been slacking all round, generally ignoring the responsibilities of the department, despite meteors and gas leaks happening all round. How do you act towards them, if at all?
A CE has the responsability of at least keeping the station working,i would first send a reprimand via CC message/fax, if nothing gets done about it, id warrant a CC demotion and a Incompetence ban from the role
Scenario 7
You are adminning with 2 other admins, and recieve an aHelp, you start handling it when one of the others butts in to the aHelp correct you. How do you act, if at all?
As the first admin responding to the Ahelp, i would ask him to refrain from interfering (unless he is just bringing facts that happened ) , unless its a Headmin, in which he would precede above me in this case
Scenario 8
A passenger arrives on station and starts skulking around in maints. Not preparing weapons or breaking into places, but gathering tools, insulation gloves, wires, gas mask, batteries, etc. How do you act, if at all?
This is a common occurance, on both ss13 and ss14 servers, i dont see any reason to punish an assistant for “tiding”, unless something else happened that warranted my attention, but it would mostly be security’s job to deal with him
Scenario 9
You are playing as the HOS in-game when the only other admin online notifies you that they have to leave. Since you are an important figure, you decide to continue playing for the remainder of the round, going SSD when ahelps occur in order to deal with them. While playing, you arrest the clown for non-lethal assault against the HOP inside the medical bay. Just as you arrive at security with the clown in cuffs, you receive an ahelp from the CMO about their chemist blowing up chem. In order to investigate, you quickly hand the clown over to the warden and tell the warden to “deal with them.” While investigating the CMO’s ahelp, you then receive an ahelp about the warden beheading the cuffed clown. How do you act, if at all, and to whom?
The More Important Ahelp to Solve in this situation would be the Clown decapping, id Request warden for the reason of the execution, as well as if the captain allowed such thing to happen, if there was no reason, both the captain and warden would have to receive the apropriate punishment for those offenses.
Coming back to the CMO’s Ahelp, i would check both in logs and with Chemist to see if the Chem explosion was Accidental/Antag work, and punish accordingly if that wasnt the case
Do you have any further notes or information we should know about you?
You can Contact me quite easily on discord, and i’d rather you called me for anything you’d like to question or notify me
