Game Admin Ratissar Posted May 18 Game Admin Posted May 18 What's your Space Station 14 Username: Ratissar What's your Discord Username: Ratissar What's your playtime amount on the Goob Server: 104 hours How old are you: 19 years old Have you been banned from the Goob Server last or this month: No Have you played on any other SS13 or SS14 servers? If so, name them, and tell us your playtime on the server(s): Played a lot on Wizden before comin here to Goob, with a total of 655 hours across various LRP Wizden servers ------------------------------------------ How many hours can you admin per week: That is not easy to answer as my schedule could change a lot, but at least 10 hours per week On what days can you get on to Admin: Generally all days if my schedule allows it What timezone are you in: UTC +1 ------------------------------------------ Why do you want to become a Game Admin? Go into detail about it and tell us a lot about it: I wish to become an admin to help with bettering the standard of roleplay on Goob as at times it can be downright abysmal with many people who seemingly couldn't care less about at least not trying to be massive shitters, which in my eyes hurts the server the most and makes people even less inclined to acually roleplay or play Command/Security jobs, as while I can understand the whole "shitsec" being yelled mostly ironically it really doesn't help when the clown just decides to go beyond being annoying and just straight up spills an entire welding tank infront of sec and then yells death threats at sec for arresting him for vandalism. That is why I wish to become an admin to stop people like these. Have you adminned for any other SS13 or SS14 server? If so, tell us about your experiences during that time, and if possible, give us proof of this: No I have not adminned for any SS13 or SS14 but I am very interested in learning how to. What role do you think the Game Admins exactly serve: A Game Admin servers an overseer and a helper role, he is there to ensure that the round and roleplay are going smoothly and punishes/warns those who disrupt this flow. They are also there to help people with various questions and resolve problems that can't be solved in character. What do you think is the current roleplay status of the server, what do you think can be done to improve it: It is not good, I can't really sugar coat it. There are many players who willingly go beyond accaptable behaviour just to fuck with someone. The way to solve this is to give players like these warnings and punishment to make them realize that their behaviour is simply not acceptable, but going too harshly at them is also not the most optimal way of solving these issues. Unless what they had done is simply inexcusable there should always be some way to redemption to better themself and hopefully others around them as example. ------------------------------------------ Say, someone who already has a note on RDM from before, for example, was to RDM and kill two people, but they've left already before you could admin help them. How would you handle the problem? First I would check if they were an antag and thus had to right to kill people, if not I would revive the two people who had been killed / round removed, as their death were not justified. Secondly I would impose a mimum GB for 7d on the offender for this being his second offense for RDM and having involved 2 people if they were just killed. In case they were round removed I could increase the length to 14d GB as outlined in the banning policy. Lastly on top of this we could add an additional 12h GB for possibly trying to avoid the punishment by disconnecting as they already have a note for RDM meaning their actions were most likely deliberate and they knew what RDM meant. I would also include a link to Goob unban forums should they feel like their ban was unfair and or unjustified. Captain seems to have disconnected before they died or the round ended. This is the first time they've disconnected while playing a very important job. What would you do about them? I would check if they went into a cryo chamber or just suicided somewhere. If they cryo sleeped I would leave a note asking them to transfer the role of captain to someone else from Command before cryo sleeping themself and leaved it at that. In the case they just suicided I would leave a warning note about using the cryo sleep chamber instead of suiciding and transfering the role of captain to someone else from Command, due to causing potentional panic on where the captain went without the cryo sleep message. You see a passenger player mess around too much and start interfering with a Security Officer's arrest by uncuffing the Officer's prisoner, as the passenger runs, the Officer pulls out their gun and shoots the passenger almost to death. What's wrong here and how would you handle the situation as an Admin? The person who is most definitly in the wrong here is the passenger, while annoying Security is a bit dickish it is still acceptable behaviour in the eyes of the rules. However uncuffing a prisoner as a non-antag Passenger who is a potentional antag is self-antaging. Thus I would warn the Passenger for Self-antag or GB him for up to 12h if the released prisoners caused a death of the Officer or people in the immediate area. For the case of the Officer I can understand that he most likely did it in the heat of the moment. In case the Officer helps the Passenger by getting him to medbay and healed up I would ask him why he did what he did, from there I would give him a minimum of a warning note and ask him to use a disabler next time. The Clown has been constantly slipping, pieing, and messing with other players, including Officers by interfering and messing up their work. Despite being told to stop by others, they've continued. How would you deal with the problem yourself? I would bwoink him asking to stop as his behaviour has gone too far and is actively interfering with the role play of others. After that I would wait for his response, in case he just tries to lie to me or straight up insults me I would warn note him for Self-antag and lying to admins and smite him or GB for 12h in case of a blatant insult. In the case he promised to stop I would watch him for a little bit to see if he goes back to self-antaging I would warn note him and then smite him. You and another Admin have been doing your job without problems, not much has happened. All of a sudden, the other admin decides to mess with the round without running a vote on it. It could lead to ruining the round for others rather than be fun. What would you do? I would ask him in admin chat to please run a vote for custom events as that is the norm and to indicate to other players the incoming event. In case he would ingore me I would ask him once more to run the vote next for it, if both fail I would simply report to the Head Game Admin about his behaviour.
