The reason you were banned:

Space Station 14 is not a vehicle for you to parrot destructive politically charged rhetorics; not even as a clown. Your appeal should include an explanation of why you feel it is appropriate to represent ACAB in a postfuturistic space-station environment long seperated from current-year humanity's shortcomings.

So upon looking at the crew manifest on a low pop round I noticed a lot of security. I created and played multiple rounds as, a character named Ron Cleaver who is a middle-aged dwarf security cadet who treats people fairly but at his core is still a cop. I created a clown-moth person character named ACAB Bozo, a leftist clown, and joined the server.

Upon joining, I had a bit that I intended to follow. I told security that I was someone who intended to keep an eye on them. I thought it was a funny bit because all I had was my watchful eyes while they had stunbatons, that I expected them to beat me with. 

I  made friends with a cadet who supported my views and I told him he was chill, which he very much was. Then I followed HOS for a couple of minutes around the station, and while this might have been unnerving for them, I trusted that they wouldn't feel threatened by the clown. They allowed me to pick a flare gun up off the ground and I threatened to shoot them for walking away while I was talking. This was meant to be funny but fell extremely flat. They almost took me into maints, and I told them that I would follow them in if they led me. This was meant to also be funny but they were not having it and I left them alone when they went back to security. 

I then explained to the station members on the radio that cops and private security only existed to support the interests of oppressors. I explained how in the western world of old Earth, cops were a) servants of a monarchy or b) slave catchers. 

I then wrote ACAB outside of security while I watched the mime get beat and gave up to smoke cigarettes.

Why you should be unbanned:

Now that I'm writing the appeal, I wonder: was it appropriate? Probably not, I could have been less edgy, but I was surprised to see ACAB described as destructive rhetoric in a game like Space Station 14 where the common expectation for security is that they will beat you up for fun. That being said, bringing the ACAB movement from the real world into the game was weird of me.

 I'm sad that greymaria didn't message me about it, as I am receptive and will listen to admins say. I believe that I have been playing well. To offend was not my intention. I have been enjoying Roleplay, and I've been exploring different characters with unique identities, rather than playing as the same greyshit over and over.

I have many characters that I love. There is Arnold Green, who is a cook (that's it), Rhubarb Green who is a janitor and also Arnold's father but on a no-contact basis with him, Confectionary Friend who is a sweet gingerbread man, The Birch of Dreams who is a plant person (forget the proper name) who has played rounds as a botanist who loves to tree, and Ron Cleaver.

What I think led to this was while playing as Ron Cleaver I watched my HoS gun down an innocent player and then say "Sorry, I was mad." I'm not sure what happened but I ahelped about it as I thought it was fucked up. Not an excuse, just what I think made me act out. 

I believe that although this is a game with a setting far away from ours, our world inevitably reaches into the game and there is a line between what we allow to bleed in and what stays outside of the game. I really love this game, and also this server. I would love to learn from this if I need too.

After a staff vote it was decided to replace your current ban with a 1 week ban and for the future keep politics out of SS14.
