What's your Space Station 14 Username: starch

What's your Discord Username: _starch_

How long have you been playing Space Station 14?:

started in like feb/march this year, according to steam i have like 900 hours

What's your playtime amount on the Goob Station Server:  56H 42M as of writing this

How old are you:

01-Jul-2006

Have you ever been banned from the Goob Station Server:

banned for 12 hours during round 5449 for atmosia and rolebanned from sec and command for 7 days during round 5448 for telling AI to set all of sec as emergency access shift start (as hop)

Have you played on any other SS13 or SS14 servers? If so, name them, and tell us your playtime on the server(s):

i played on wizden but they appeal-banned me for accidentally blowing up chem (probably also because i disconnected to go to bed, i guess they saw that as avoiding ban), i also got like 80 ish hours on frontier iirc. never touched SS13 though, i fear the BYOND engine. 🫄

How many hours can you admin per week: ~40 hours a week, varies though (might have days off school, might have important shit to do, etc)

On what days can you get on to Admin: a bit after ~4 PM EST to ~8 PM EST on the days i have school, and i can be on from like 10 AM EST to 9-11 PM EST on days where i dont.

What timezone are you in: EST/us east coast

Why do you want to become a Game Admin? Go into detail about it and tell us a lot about it:

i want to become game admin because im really bored of doing that evil rule breaking shit and i want to learn how to do this shit since i have nothing else to do

Do you have any prior admin experience on another SS13/SS14 server? If so, tell us about your experiences during that time, and if possible, give us proof of this:

i dont

What role do you think the Game Admins exactly serve: enforcing rules,

answering ahelps, dealing with not-ic issues (bugs and shit like that)

What are you primarily interested in doing as an admin?:

helping with ahelps and shit, trying to learn so im Not An Asshole

What are you least interested in doing as an admin?:

dealing with a fuck ton of angry pissed off people

What makes you a great addition to Staff?:

i broke rules 24/7 on wizden i know what that shit looks like 🔥

What do you think is the current roleplay status of the server, what do you think can be done to improve it:

i think the roleplay status is mostly LRP, sometimes going up to MRP, but most of the time its LRP

Other than banning problematic players, what admin actions do you believe have the biggest positive impact?:

helping players with issues that are more game problem than other player problem, like remote signalers being Jank Shitass

Have you ever had a negative experience in the game or with a game admin? If so what, if anything, would you do to prevent other players from experiencing this?:

i havent really had negative experiences with game admins most the shit they warn me for is justified

Have you ever had a good experience with the game or a game admin? If so, what was it?:

i like it when they try to do admeme at CC with station AI when i play it

In your opinion, what is the most important quality of an admin?:

not treating the rules like fucking 100% always correct and flawless

It is the start of the round. There are 60 players on the server. The game mode is traitors, traitors have not been selected yet. There are three players who decided to observe the round instead of join it orbiting you. Two of them are encouraging you to “do something funny”.
i would ignore them because Funny Shit ruins some peoples matches sometimes, and also i'd have no reason to listen (probably need other admins approval to do Funny Shit anyways)

Say, someone who already has a note on RDM from before, for example, was to RDM and kill two people, but they've left already before you could admin help them. How would you handle the problem?

wait like 5-ish minutes to see if it was just internet going out a unlucky time, if not then give them a 24hr-3 day ban depending on the severity, then respawn the people killed and try to get them back to how they were to avoid it being disrupting

Captain seems to have disconnected before they died or the round ended. This is the first time they've disconnected while playing a very important job. What would you do about them?

if its the first time its probably something important irl, or just a mistake (accidentally turning off PC, internet going out, etc), since i doubt that would be intentional (unless it is their first time doing a important job), if they get back online, what i would say would probably depend on the reason, (eg if its something moderately important irl they should probably just do a quick ahelp to notify first)

You see a chemist who has only made basic meds start gathering materials and talking about making uranium foam grenades in chat. Right as they start making the grenades they roll as a midround sleeper Syndicate. How would you handle the situation if at all?

i would give them a warning for doing self-antag type shit before actually rolling it, but i wouldn't ban it, since it could be handled more IC if possible. if they started doing more of that kind of shit next round though then i'd probably roleban for like 24hr or something similar

You see a clown using crayon to write on the floor in front of security. The clown writings are negative things about security, like “shitsec”. A secoff tells the clown that they’re being arrested for vandalism, stuns them, and cuffs them. Before the secoff is able to get the clown into the brig, a passenger slips the secoff, causing them to lose their baton, then uses the baton to stun another secoff that comes to help as the clown runs away. The passenger escapes through disposals. Having heard an AOS radio callout, the detective enters maintenance near disposals and shoots the passenger to crit. There are four players in this scenario, the clown, the passenger, the secoff, and the detective.

i think this could've been handled better, the sec could've done more warnings before going to arrest, the tider had no reason to slip (unless antag), and was probably self-antagging in a minor way, and the detective was incompetent for not trying to use non-lethals first to arrest, as the tider has no weapons except the stun-baton

You and another Admin have been doing your job without problems, you then catch a command staff member misuse contraband. While you are in the middle of the ahelp, the other admin jumps into the middle of your ahelp with a rule clarification that is plainly incorrect. Without the interruption, what would have you asked the command staff member, and how would you have responded or reacted to the interrupting admin?
i would've asked the command staff member if he had a good reason to use the contra (like using a esword from an traitor during warops, or using a emag to get through doors during malf/syndie ai). if not, i would've probably given him a ~3d roleban from command/sec for the misuse. if a different admin tried doing the rule clarification, i would try to explain to them that they were wrong (without being a asshole about it)

You are ahelping a player about an issue. The player has no prior noted issues. A few days earlier, an admin had told you that this type of situation should result in a temporary ban for a first offense, and you are confident that this situation is not substantially different from the type that admin was describing. During the ahelp, another admin pings you on Discord with a link to the ongoing ahelp and tells you to just indefinitely ban them and make them appeal. Excluding Trial Game Admins, Senior Game Admins and Head Game Admins, all admins are equally “ranked”. A headmin is not currently available.

depending about how severe i see the issue, i would handle this in different ways if it was a minor issue like breaking into departments or metacomming, i would go for the original punishment, and if a headmin comes online to confirm it was supposed to be appeal-ban, i would raise it to that. if the issue was something more severe like murdering random people as normal crew, or welderbombing random departments, i would either ask the other admins online what they think or listen to the other admin and raise it to a appeal-ban
