henhen Posted October 19 Posted October 19 What's your Space Station 14 Username: Henhen What's your Discord Username: henheniii How long have you been playing Space Station 14?: 1600h (OPTIONAL) How long have you been playing Space Station 13?: 13 mins What's your playtime amount on the Goob Station Server: about 300H. How old are you: 20 Have you ever been banned from the Goob Station Server: Yes, 1.faxing "Boykisser" to centcom. (removed 2 mins later). 2. Taking the disk and some items to protect it when captain was dead during nukie round (was admin complaint and removed), walking into the SM what was accidental (didn't know it activates that way) and a few joke bans from pira trying the bug he found that you can set the bans far into the past. Have you played on any other SS13 or SS14 servers? If so, name them, and tell us your playtime on the server(s): I have played on Major servers that are: Delta V(30h), Wizden (700h), Frontier(80h) ------------------------------------------ Time How many hours can you admin per week: 10-25h On what days can you get on to Admin: Every day What timezone are you in: GMT+3 ------------------------------------------ General Questions Why do you want to become a Game Admin? Go into detail about it and tell us a lot about it: Currently there aren't that many admins since goob 2 opened up and many admins quit. i want to fill in that posistion by doing admin work. that includes helping out players, since the charborg tide MANY and i say A LOT of players have started playing ss14 recently. I also would deal with rulebreakers to keep the server clean and from time to time host events to make the server more interesting. Currently in my timezone there isn't many admins online and i would like to have atleast 1 admin online at all times. Do you have any prior admin or staff experience on another SS13/SS14 server? If so, tell us about your experiences during that time, and if possible, give us proof of this: i got 2 months in Foundation 14 What role do you think Game Admins serve, in detail: I think Gameadmins serve to first of all help out new players (or old players if they have qoestions). protect the server from any rulebreakers and act accordingly. and last of all keep the community happy and well. What are you primarily interested in doing as an admin?: Mainly watching over the station and checking if everything is going alright and helping out new players. What are you least interested in doing as an admin?: Checking logs but i will still do it since it helps to clarify situations What makes you a great addition to staff?: I live in nowhere and i usually can log on during low pop hours, since my timezone is fairly diffrent from the other admins i would be great help in filling out the empty space where admins aren't on. i also know a lot of the admin tools from learning them on a private server and during my 2 month admin period on foundation 14 What do you think is the current roleplay status of the LRP server, what do you think can be done to improve it: its LRP. Currently with a lot of new players the expirience is a little worse than before but since goob 2 (MRP) opened up it isn't that much of a problem. main problems are validhunters and self antags. (OPTIONAL) What do you think is the current roleplay status of the MRP server, what do you think can be done to improve it: Other than banning problematic players, what admin actions do you believe have the biggest positive impact?: I think the biggest positive impact comes from admins helping out new players. by teaching them, answering their questions and just making their live easier learning how SS14 works. They also help out older players who might have questions. Have you ever had a negative experience with a game admin (even on another SS13/14 server)? If so what, if anything, would you do differently?: I have had many negative experience. from each of them i have learnt what to do better and what i would have personally done, to give a few examples. Once i had an admin ban me for watching (and having a minor impact) a revolution about sec doing their job badly. They threw many fake claims not releated at all at me, I would have personally fact checked the claims i was making. Have you ever had a good experience with a game admin? If so, what was it?: i have also had many of these. Just to give a few examples: When i was still new to the game an admin offered to help me learn the game, Admins dealing with rulebreakers and raiders. In your opinion, what is the most important quality in an admin?: To judge everyone equaly and not be biased, to also look at things from the player/s prespective ------------------------------------------ Scenarios Questions (You should put more than just one or two sentences.) It is the start of the round. There are 60 players on the server. The game mode is traitors, traitors have not been selected yet. There are three players who decided to observe the round instead of join it orbiting you. Two of them are encouraging you to do something funny. Most of the time i would say "no". the players decided to observe the round themselves, they are likely there to observe the round like i do or wait for ghost roles (ninja, lone op, disaster cargo tech and ect.). i am not required to entertain the players. i am there to do my admin dutys of helping out players and dealing with rulebreakers, and from time to time making silly announcments. If i would do something funny i would get premission for it and make it something that wouldn't affect the round much, since its not an admin event and its still a normal round. i wouldn't want ruining other people rounds only because some ghosts asked for me to do some funny, since that would go against everything an admin should do. Say, someone who already has a note on RDM from before, for example, was to RDM and kill two people, but they've left already before you could admin help them. How would you handle the problem? I would check their other notes first, to see their other notes and similar notes to this one. Since they left and i can't Ahelp them anymore, i would try to contact them trough discord or any similar platform. if i can't find them, first if the "RDM" could be explained (it didn't seem like direct RDM) i would leave a secret note to "Ahelp needed once he logs back on, he has appeared to RDM, he has... (what he did)." and tell other admins to ahelp him once he logs on. If its clear that he RDMed i would firstly give them a game ban and a link to the forums. (also would like to add that, i would also see if he left right after RDMing or left after the round/s have ended, since it would help determine stuff better) The Captain has disconnected before they died or the round ended. This is the first time they've disconnected while playing a very important job. What do you do? Firstly i would check if they told an admin or ask other heads did he notify anyone before going SSD. If the answer is "no", i would firstly wait 2-5 mins since the player could just have logged off and could relog any second. if by that period they haven't yet relogged i would add a pop up note to explain that they logged off as an important role without notifying any command/admin. since people also have a real life they need to deal with, he might had to leave to deal with some real life issues. If they did tell command, i would do nothing since they did everything they were supposed to do when they went SSD You see a chemist who has only made basic meds start gathering materials and talking about making uranium foam grenades in chat. Right as they start making the grenades they roll as a midround sleeper Syndicate. How would you handle the situation if at all? I would firstly check the notes of the chemist, to see if they have done these kind of things in the past. then i would Ahelp the chemist asking "why would you need/make uranium grenades before even rolling antag". If they answer that "to protect myself" i would warn them of powergaming and warn/ban them depending on their previous notes. if they say "for funny" or "to kill someone". i would remind them about the self antag rule and give them a warning/ban depending on their previous notes. If they decide to tell me "i wasn't making uranium bombs". i would ban them for clearly lying in ahelps since he talked about making them and got all the materials for it. i would also add to the ban for self antagging since what else than self antagging you could do with uranium bombs. The Head of Security has decided to coup the Captain. The Head of Personnel agrees with the Head of Security and has taken up arms in case it is necessary to aid in effecting the arrest of the Captain. The Captain is hiding with the Quartermaster in the cargo shuttle to avoid the Clown who has stolen the captains saber as a non-antag. There are five people named in this scenario. Please describe what actions, if any, you would take in relation to each, and why. Firstly i would check HOS and HOPs notes. If they got a good reason for it i would do nothing against HOS and HOP (example: killed multiple random people or commiting multiple crimes or ect.). if they didn't ask other heads or even centcom i would, warn and add a note both to HOS and HOP if it was their first time doing something bad. if they have a few notes (no bans) i would role ban them from sec and command. if they have bans and bad notes i would entirely game ban them. If HOS and HOP refuse to stop i would game ban them since they insist on arresting captain, when i told them to stop. Next i would check the clowns notes. then i would ahelp the clown asking "why did you steal the captains items", in most cases i would warn them for self antag. if they many similar notes i would ban them. for last i would do nothing with the captain since they got a RP reason for hiding (the clown could be a dangerous syndicate agent who came here to kill them, since they took captains weapons after all). You see a clown using crayon to write on the floor in front of security. The clown writings are negative things about security, like "shitsec". A secoff tells the clown that they're being arrested for vandalism, stuns them, and cuffs them. Before the secoff is able to get the clown into the brig, a passenger slips the secoff, causing them to lose their baton, then uses the baton to stun another secoff that comes to help as the clown runs away. The passenger escapes through disposals. Having heard an AOS radio callout, the detective enters maintenance near disposals and shoots the passenger to crit. There are four players in this scenario, the clown, the passenger, the secoff, and the detective. First of all i would do nothing with the clown and sec officer since they were doing their jobs and not breaking any rules. If the passanger was an antag i would do nothing, if he wasn't i would check the passangers notes and ahelp them with "why did you slip the secoff to take their baton and then let the clown free". I would give them a warning for self antag. if they have self antagged many times in the past i would give them a ban.If the passanger took the baton with them i would do nothing with the detective, since stunmeta is still highly dangerous and det could be still easily killed. if the detective had lost his non-lethals and/or couldn't get some fast i would also do nothing. if the det didn't get themself non-lethals on purpose and the passanger still had the baton with them, I would check the dets notes, then i would ahelp the detective telling them that they should use non-lethals instead, and warn them. You and another Admin have been doing your job without problems, you then catch a command staff member misuse contraband. While you are in the middle of the ahelp, the other admin jumps into the middle of your ahelp with a rule clarification that is plainly incorrect. Without the interruption, what would have you asked the command staff member, and how would you have responded or reacted to the interrupting admin? If the captain used contraband in not dangerous way i would do nothing (like just opening a esword for a second or putting on a synde hat by accident and then taking it off) i wouldn't ahelp them in the first place if that was the case.If he used it to do something or hide it in their backpack i would ahelp them and warn them for using miss-using contra. after the admin jumps in and tells a wrong rule clarification, if there are no other admins online i would firstly tell the command member "what the other admin said is wrong, could you please wait while we discuss it with the other admin". then i would discuss it with the other admin telling them and showing them why it was a wrong rule clarification. since i can't just ignore the admin and deal with the command member, that would result in a more serious argument with the admin what isn't necessary. after that i would keep dealing with the command member. if there are other admins online i would ask them to explain it to the admin who jumped into the ahelp You are ahelping a player about an issue. The player has no prior noted issues. A few days earlier, an admin had told you that this type of situation should result in a temporary ban for a first offense, and you are confident that this situation is not substantially different from the type that admin was describing. During the ahelp, another admin pings you on Discord with a link to the ongoing ahelp and tells you to just indefinitely ban them and make them appeal. Excluding Trial Game Admins, Senior Game Admins and Head Game Admins, all admins are equally ranked And headmin is not currently available. I would ignore the first admin message since that could have been a personal opinion. I would discuss the discord admin asking for context why the admin thinks the player deserves a ban. If the reasons seem alright and he just wants to help me out (since in this situation i am still a Trial Min and i should learn from other admins) i would do as he said. if the intend seems to be bad i would message a headmin about this situation later of their actions. If in this situation i would have been a Full Admin, i would have still discuss it with the discord admin but i would tell them that "your suggestion will be considered" and judge the situation as i see fit, since i would be no longer a Trial Min and would have by then better understanding of everything ------------------------------------------ End Anything else we should know about or have questions about: Nope, i understand everything that i am applying for.

It's self operates and there aren't that many tiders. There isn't really anything to improve since it seems perfectly fine as it is. I am gonna give goob 2 more tries in the future, once I feel like doing some MRP again Or I get tired from the charborg tide on goob 1.

The QM did nothing wrong, they didn't break any rules by helping the captain hide from the clown. So I would do nothing to the QM
