General Questions

Why do you want to become a Game Admin? Go into detail about it and tell us a lot about it:
I want to become an admin because I would like to help players in game and foster a safe community, one which people would enjoy playing in and interacting with. I would also like to be a game admin because I want to help the current admins with time as I know they have lives outside of the game and I have a lot of free time on my hands so I can help as much as needed.

Do you have any prior admin or staff experience on another SS13/SS14 server? If so, tell us about your experiences during that time, and if possible, give us proof of this:
I unfortunately don't have prior admin or staff experience on ss14 servers.

What role do you think Game Admins serve, in detail:
Game admins serve the role of helpers, they are there to help guide the players that may not know about something or give advice in a current situation if a player is confused about something. Admins however also serve the role of making sure no one breaks the rules to ensure a fun game experience for all players involved.

What are you primarily interested in doing as an admin?:
Helping players where needed and making sure the community is open for anyone to join and have a great experience.

What are you least interested in doing as an admin?:
Banning people, in the sense of that I would rather prefer everyone has a great and fun time but if someone breaks the rules of the server they should get removed according to what they have done, but dealing with situations where people aren't having a fun time isn't good but that's why I want to become admin to make such situations although unpleasant be resolved.

What makes you a great addition to staff?:
I am a teamplayer and love to work with other staff as well as that I have a lot of experience being an admin on other games and servers or well was, I think I can use my experience to help and I would like to.

What do you think is the current roleplay status of the LRP server, what do you think can be done to improve it:
It in my honest opinion greatly depends on the time when you hop on or well myself. On lowpop there are times where RP actually shines through but other times its one person completely going NRP. On higher pop it really depends on the situation but most often its just LRP or close to NRP in some situations. What could be done to improve it is I think is making events based on roleplay, for example a Centcomm representative comes to inspect the station for example, something to make roleplay more enticing to players but also giving them fun interactions, now i know this can't be done every shift but I think it would make other players more interested in the roleplay aspect.

(OPTIONAL) What do you think is the current roleplay status of the MRP server, what do you think can be done to improve it:
I think the status of the MRP server is great but it definitely needs more players, the times I've played there has been way more roleplay orientated and a fun experience overall, my only worry is that its extremely low pop and most people don't have the times to be command which creates problems and situations such as a threat is attacking the station and security can't combat it as they don't have access to the armory. What could be done to improve it, I think what could be done is maybe make it possible to transfer times and as suggested the lrp server where rp events are made I think that would actually entice players to visit the MRP server more often.

Other than banning problematic players, what admin actions do you believe have the biggest positive impact?:
Helping new and or experienced players. There are situations where new players don't know how to do something as an antagonist for example and can ahelp for an answer, this in my opinion has the biggest positive impact as its helping newer players understand what they can and can't do as well as guiding them in a sense which overall creates a positive impact, one which will be remembered by newer players and would make them want to play more.

Have you ever had a negative experience with a game admin (even on another SS13/14 server)? If so what, if anything, would you do differently?:
Thinking back on all my interactions I don't think I have had one negative experience. Any time I ask for help or explain a situation its handled pretty fast and the admins are always kind and friendly from my experience.

Have you ever had a good experience with a game admin? If so, what was it?:
I have, best one I can think of is when I was playing on another server(frontier) and flew to the omnichurch beacon, there I saw an alter and decided why not and prayed for a cak(cake cat) because I always found them super adorable, when i was going back to the outpost my ship turned into smoke suddenly and when it disappeared there was a cak, I won't lie that made my shift.

In your opinion, what is the most important quality in an admin?:
Being unbiased, in my opinion that is the most important quality, you should always be unbiased no matter the situation and the people involved, the decisions you make as admin has reprecussions for people and being biased could lead to bad outcomes as said in the admin policy first one "Administrators will be held responsible for their actions".

Scenarios Questions (You should put more than just one or two sentences.)

It is the start of the round. There are 60 players on the server. The game mode is traitors, traitors have not been selected yet. There are three players who decided to observe the round instead of join it orbiting you. Two of them are encouraging you to “do something funny”.

I would disappear away or just keep an eye out for the round and see how things progress. Really depends on the situation but three people egging me on to do something or anything funny I would just keep to my own devices to administrate the round and make sure everything is running smoothly, of course in the situation of an event one can probably do something "funny" and make something entertaining for everyone on the station but otherwise on a normal shift I would hide myself and see how the round progresses uninterrupted.

Say, someone who already has a note on RDM from before, for example, was to RDM and kill two people, but they've left already before you could admin help them. How would you handle the problem?
First thing I would do is ask the two players the person killed for their perspective before continuing, listening to both players interactions with the said person who has an RDM note and from there make my decision on what to do with the player in question. I would further look into the logs to see if the story matches on who attacked first as well as seeing who put up the previous note on RDM for said person if possible. When that is done I would if another admin is on tell them the situation and discuss with them what they think would be most suitable punishment and if we both come to the agreement of a ban I would then follow the guidelines of the banning policy and because this is their second offense I would give them a 6 day ban because of the amount of people affected, as well as adding seven days to it for evading ahelp totaling up to 13 days, writing all reasons for the ban.

The Captain has disconnected before they died or the round ended. This is the first time they've disconnected while playing a very important job. What do you do?
I know some situations doesn't make it easy to always finish an entire shift, sometimes something unexpected might happen like the power might die or something you can't really forsee so seeing as this is their first offense on disconnecting I would give the player a note regarding them leaving to tell them to be more aware of it but not any punishments. If able and I can see the player in the future I would ask them via Ahelp why they left and try and decide on the situation from there, may have been a situation in real life which he had to attend to so I think in this case as it is a first time situation as well its a good idea to listen to what the player has to say as well as if possible give the player some advice for example maybe tell him if its super urgent he can quickly ahelp for an admin that he has an urgent situation and needs to go.

You see a chemist who has only made basic meds start gathering materials and talking about making uranium foam grenades in chat. Right as they start making the grenades they roll as a midround sleeper Syndicate. How would you handle the situation if at all?
By basic meds I hope they would have made everything except the advanced brutes and of course the more complex things like sigy and dip and labled them appropriately for the doctors to use at medbay. But beside that I don't think as an admin any intervention is needed so far, maybe they just want to experiment and learn about chemistry but as long as they have supplied med with the needed meds and have done his role without completely abandoning it for their side project I think its fine as long as no one has gotten hurt in the process.

I would honestly follow them and see their intent as it isn't always possible to know what a player might do with said foam grenades, but again seeing as the chems were made and medbay wasn't left with no meds and they have rolled sleeper I would just see how things progress as of now, intervention isn't always required but if said person does this same shenanigans on the shift thereafter I might tell them or nudge them and tell them to please focus on their role as chemist.

The Head of Security has decided to coup the Captain. The Head of Personnel agrees with the Head of Security and has taken up arms in case it is necessary to aid in effecting the arrest of the Captain. The Captain is hiding with the Quartermaster in the cargo shuttle to avoid the Clown who has stolen the captains saber as a non-antag. There are five people named in this scenario. Please describe what actions, if any, you would take in relation to each, and why.
Lets start from the first mentioned, the Head of security and the Head of Personnel, I would hope their coup has a reason behind it such as the captain is either someone that is incompetent, doesn't do their job or in someway is doing a bad job as a captain that is negatively effecting the crew and causing harm, I would want to see a good reason for said coup otherwise I would intervene if they are doing this for no reason. If this is good rp I would let it go on and if they have valid reasons even more power to them but there has to be a valid reason otherwise I would send them a message telling them to not do this.

The captain though in my opinion has abandoned his post, he should be on the station at all times unless something of drastic nature has happened such as a tesla or singulo eating through the station but otherwise they should not be flying around on the cargo shuttle, I would send a message maybe as Centcomm in the form of that the captain should remain vigilant at his post at all times and be with his station and see if he goes back, if he doesn't I'd send him a message and tell him to go back, the Quartermaster though I don't think has done anything wrong and I see no reason on why he should be punished for simply being in the middle of everything.

The clown stealing the captain's sabre I would first see if it plays out in character, immediately sending a message seems drastic so personally I would see if it can be resolved in character and if the clown is willing to give it back or see what the clown is doing with it, if they don't however I would send a message to them telling them that they aren't supposed to have it asking them to return the sword when they can.

You see a clown using crayon to write on the floor in front of security. The clown writings are negative things about security, like “shitsec”. A secoff tells the clown that they’re being arrested for vandalism, stuns them, and cuffs them. Before the secoff is able to get the clown into the brig, a passenger slips the secoff, causing them to lose their baton, then uses the baton to stun another secoff that comes to help as the clown runs away. The passenger escapes through disposals. Having heard an AOS radio callout, the detective enters maintenance near disposals and shoots the passenger to crit. There are four players in this scenario, the clown, the passenger, the secoff, and the detective.

From the scenario described lets start with the clown. The clown in my opinion has done nothing wrong, he did his pranks and hurt no one and although being negative to security he broke no rules, he simply wrote the things on the floor and escaped when the passenger intervened, I would do nothing regarding the clown as I see no wrong that they have done unless they are going out of their way to harass security all shift, if it comes into those boundaries then absolutely something should be done but if this is a one time occurrence I think punishing the clown would be a little bit of an overreaction.

The security officers also played their roles well, they gave a valid reason which is "vandalism" and instead of going to immediately to lethals they stunned the clown and arrested them as well as the other secoff who tried to help the first one after losing his baton, I see no reason as to why they should get in trouble either.

The passenger I would see if they have any prior notes with the same situation or almost the same and decide from there, I would remind them not to interfere as they aren't an antag and they shouldn't be interfering with security work, if they have a previous note I would definitely move to a day to three day ban depending on the history and what occurred previously. Although slipping secoffs isn't the worst offense like welderbombing sec but they should be reminded not to be antagonistic if they have prior history of doing actions like this, it all comes down to if this is recurring actions of the player at hand.

The detective however I feel may have crossed a line depending entirely how the situation played out in maints. If the passenger surrendered for example or didn't do anything I think the actions of the detective may have been over-escalation if they immediately just shot the passenger, I know detectives don't spawn with stuns as their work isn't involved in that and moreso in solving crimes and finding any evidence so they may have had no choice, in that regard I would ask them to please in the future maybe have a stun on them as I understand its not possible to have everything on you at any given time so it leaves a lot of room for what to do in that situation but I would ask them in the future to avoid such a situation by maybe keeping a disabler or stun prod on them just in case and depending how they respond move on from there such as a note. However if the passenger did attack first with the stun baton and the detective defended themselves I would say that the detective did the right thing although extreme, if he was stunned he may have lost his gun which meant a passenger would get a lethal weapon this time around, as long as the detective ensures that the passenger is brought to med I see no need to intervene then.

You and another Admin have been doing your job without problems, you then catch a command staff member misuse contraband. While you are in the middle of the ahelp, the other admin jumps into the middle of your ahelp with a rule clarification that is plainly incorrect. Without the interruption, what would have you asked the command staff member, and how would you have responded or reacted to the interrupting admin?

I would without the interruption have asked the command member to please put away the contraband as they are not allowed to use such things giving them a reasoning such as that Centcomm does not want their command members on stations to use contraband and go give it to the Head of security or warden to put away in the armory, if this is a recurring offense I would make a note but otherwise I would've asked them to just get the contraband to armory as they aren't allowed to have it, if the command member instead chooses to not follow that direction I would give them a warning or depending on prior history a roleban of three to seven days.

How I would have responded to the interrupting admin is by moving that discussion over to admin chat and asking them please to not interrupt an ongoing ahelp. When the ahelp is handled I would ask them to please not interrupt again and explain to them that they got a rule clarification wrong, not being hostile or angry but explaining to them that I think the response they give were incorrect as well that I had the situation handled. I would discuss it with the other admin and come to an agreement over said rule.

You are ahelping a player about an issue. The player has no prior noted issues. A few days earlier, an admin had told you that this type of situation should result in a temporary ban for a first offense, and you are confident that this situation is not substantially different from the type that admin was describing. During the ahelp, another admin pings you on Discord with a link to the ongoing ahelp and tells you to just indefinitely ban them and make them appeal. Excluding Trial Game Admins, Senior Game Admins and Head Game Admins, all admins are equally “ranked”. A headmin is not currently available.

I would point out to the admin on the discord what the other admin told me of a first offense should result in a temporary ban for a first offense before doing anything and explain to them if anything what the other admin told me of the situation. I would then proceed with the temporary ban and until its cleared up then it could always be changed to a indefinite ban, but I would first like all admins to clarify on the situation before deciding on an indefinite ban because of the previous aforementioned information given to me.
