On average, how many hours do you expect to admin per week: While I like contributing I think I can admin on the side so like 20 hours maybe 30 probably more on the weekends.
How old are you? 26
Do you have any SS14 experience outside of Goob Station servers, or any SS13 experience? Yeah, I have played a lot on wizden and on Delta-V since it had features also on RMC and Monolith somewhat.
Do you have prior administration experience (SS13/SS14 experience preferred, please also post a way for us to verify this)?
Trauma Station during playtests
go onto discord of the traumastation
I want to just say I hope this won’t hurt my chances or cloud anyones judgement when evaluating this application. Because I know Mr. Armok has so many enemies. I don’t admin for him it’s a public service.
Have you ever been banned from any SS14 or SS13 servers?
Delta V I said naughty R word when I malded after we lost as nukies because of mindswap I called the mindswap ability stupid and the person who thought it was a good idea Rword.
We broke into armory stole their rpg only for them to mindswap onto the guy with the RPG killing all nukies in one hit very peak made me very mad. Justified ban honestly. It was like 2022 though so things and me myself changed a lot.
Detailed Questions
What role do you think game admins serve on our servers?
Serve public trust.
Uphold the rules.
Help new players.
Communicate issues to contributors and maintainers.
Why do you want to become an administrator for SS14?
I genuinely enjoy helping people if you need help just reach out see if I am available.
I wan’t to help community where ever I can more than I do now with contributing and helping answer questions in ivory tower.
What are you primarily interested in doing as an admin?
Helping new players and gathering data for potential contributions.
Shape the public image.
What are you least interested in doing as an admin?
Arguing with rule lawyers in AHelps.
It genuinely makes me mad on traumastation. Like I swear to god I get it you got broke a rule and now are trying to snake your way out of it.
How do you feel about the current roleplay status on the servers?
I think it is better than it was in like November because I saw people talk with me more IC.
But people should be less afraid to escalate of course while abiding by the rules.
Especially on LRP antags are too stuck in the deathmatch mindset by which I mean that they go the same gimmics over and over while not making it fun for other players.
Like I don’t mean to go and be like “I am gonna kill you now sir” and then empty your magazine into them. I mean like setup some fun hostage situations. Extort people for theft objectives and more.
Other than banning problematic players, what admin actions do you believe have the biggest positive impact?
Helping new players learn the ropes of roles especially regarding security and medical. I would say those are my strong points but honestly if i don’t exactly know how something works I can always look how it’s coded in.
Finding out about issues and creating issue posts or fixes on github and communicating them to the maintainers/contributors.
Using VV, toolshed and admin menu with bugs and unintended behaviors.
Have you ever had a good experience with the game or a game admin? If so, what was it?
I don’t know I had many great experiences I had one like 2 days ago.
I was playing chef and an assistant threw a the NTR’s briefcase inside the kitchen and told us to burger it. Which since I generally try not to be asshole unless someone is asshole to me I didn’t go through with instead I kept it and tried to negotiate 3 days paid vacation and a raise to 1 spesso per hour from 0 spessos.
I was swiftly aprehended by the BSO since I really didn’t feel like it warranted me using CQC on them to pacify them.
They dragged me of to the brig where I was processed and put into perma for 5 minutes.
As my luck would have it I rolled antagonist while not having my PDA on me so I didnt recieve my traitor uplink or my codewords.
I ahelped it and I was promptly provided these by chandont.
After wards I thought of a funny gimmic for my objective that I would go and use my tc on mindslave implant and the explosive payload blueprint.
Then I requested autolathe and tools from sci which they gave me.
I linked it with the silo after building it in the freezer.
Then I mindslaved the other chef and together we tried to extort the CMO which unfortunately didn’t go well because he thought we got CQC and were trying to kill him not ask him for his syringe gun.
Sec tried to search us but after pointing at the remote signaler and the explosive payload in the bag they changed their minds.
Nothing really happened until I tried stealing from the CMO on the shuttle as final resort which I almost got but missed the dufflebag throw.
Have you ever had a negative experience in the game or with a game admin? If so, what, if anything, would you do to prevent other players from experiencing this?
I cant really say I had bad experience with an admin since I dont get ahelped because I dont break the rules or even skirt them really.
I did have bad experiences but those usually boildown to people self antagging raiders or antagonists doing the same gimmic over and over which i hate but can really do nothing about such is the nature of the deathmatch. Only some people do that and it has been getting better.
Scenario Questions
Scenario 1
It is the start of the round. There are 60 players on the server. The game mode is traitors, traitors have not been selected yet. There are three players who decided to observe the round instead of join it orbiting you. Two of them are encouraging you to “do something funny”.
Honestly depends on the mood I am in. I might do something funny in the admin arena or on CC. But I don’t think there is any valid way to do something funny on the station without intervening in the natural flow of the round. I could respawn them if its really early but probably not since they could have already gained some meta info.
Scenario 2
This scenario takes place on LRP. The Head of Security has decided to coup the Captain. The Head of Personnel agrees with the Head of Security and has taken up arms in case it is necessary to aid in effecting the arrest of the Captain. The Captain is hiding with the Quartermaster in the cargo shuttle to avoid the Clown who has stolen the captains saber as a non-antag. There are five people named in this scenario. Please describe what actions, if any, you would take in relation to each, and why.
Depends on why is the coup happening If the captain is being an insane shitter I might consider warning them or rolebanning them. This probably applies to all of the command roles in the scenario It really depends on the specifics.
Clown shouldn’t be stealing caps saber unless its for a prank or a joke in this case clown probably wants to kill em thats why they are hiding. I will see how it plays out and if he returns the saber if not and actually goes out of his way and over escalates I would temporary ban them as per banning policy. Which is warning up to 9 day ban on fourth offense.
Scenario 3
You are ahelping a player about an issue. The player has no prior noted issues. A few days earlier, an admin had told you that this type of situation should result in a temporary ban for a first offense, and you are confident that this situation is not substantially different from the type that admin was describing. During the ahelp, another admin pings you on Discord with a link to the ongoing ahelp and tells you to just indefinitely ban them and make them appeal. Excluding trialmins and headmins, all admins are equally “ranked”. A headmin is not currently available.
I refer to the banning policy no matter what.
This is a trick question right.
When admin is available tell them about the other admins behavior if it was super egregious most probably not it would have to be like something super stupid.
Scenario 4
A brand new player has joined, chosen cargo tech, and instantly rushes to get satchel charges and other salvage gear. How do you act, if at all?
I would look into the admin logs if he asked for them take that into consideration and than watch if they do anything stupid with the gear eg. selfantag/raiding.
But its generally really suspicious for a brand new player to know where everything is so I would watch them very closely and maybe even put em on a watchlist.
Also check https://auth.spacestation14.com/api/query/name?name= for account creation could provide context like new account.
If they were logged on account that was already banned indef GB for ban evasion. But thats only if the message appears in the log that they are trying to connect from account that was previously X.
Scenario 5
A security officer, on code blue, spots a mime breaking into EVA, in response, he shoots the mime with lethal force then takes him to medical, in cuffs. How do you act, if at all, and to whom?
The security is definitely over escalating unless the mime is armed or was openly hostile. Or he is marked KoS for being a ling or a heretic.
If the mime is breaking in for no reason I would warn them that it could be considered a self antag if they dont have a good IC reason IE station is spaced.
For the secoff they took em to medical which for me personally is the main good thing they did. They should have tried to use non-lethals but context absolutely matters if the mime was hopped up on hyperzine or was like a hostile treath then its fine for the sec off to act that way I would probably just warn them if its bad and role ban them only if its super egregious eg. it was like 2nd 3rd or 4th offense they had. I might have to Game ban them if its ultra giga mega bad but hopefully not.
Scenario 6
A chief engineer has been slacking all round, generally ignoring the responsibilities of the department, despite meteors and gas leaks happening all round. How do you act towards them, if at all?
Firstly I would just ask them why are they not staying within their line. If they provide me with a good reason for such behavior and it correlates with the admin log I think they are fine to not do them.
If they are not doing what they are doing for a good reason If its early I would probably tell em to fix their mess. If its late its role abandonment and griefing per banning policy so I would either warn them for first offense up to a indef game ban on 3rd offense.
Scenario 7
You are adminning with 2 other admins, and recieve an aHelp, you start handling it when one of the others butts in to the aHelp correct you. How do you act, if at all?
I tell them to stay away from my ahelp because I am the one handling it.
Unless they are using admin only and trying to help me out or give their opinion on the matter then its fine.
Scenario 8
A passenger arrives on station and starts skulking around in maints. Not preparing weapons or breaking into places, but gathering tools, insulation gloves, wires, gas mask, batteries, etc. How do you act, if at all?
I dont act until they something stupid this is like average tider behavior. I would do nothing probably unless its like super new account. Which i would check using the api.
If its super new I would watch them carefully.

Scenario 9
You are playing as the HOS in-game when the only other admin online notifies you that they have to leave. Since you are an important figure, you decide to continue playing for the remainder of the round, going SSD when ahelps occur in order to deal with them. While playing, you arrest the clown for non-lethal assault against the HOP inside the medical bay. Just as you arrive at security with the clown in cuffs, you receive an ahelp from the CMO about their chemist blowing up chem. In order to investigate, you quickly hand the clown over to the warden and tell the warden to “deal with them.” While investigating the CMO’s ahelp, you then receive an ahelp about the warden beheading the cuffed clown. How do you act, if at all, and to whom?
I cant act on the clown getting beheaded IC because its OOC information I recieved. If there is like a firefight in medical I go help as hos as soon as thats dealt with I ahelp the warden why was clown beheaded and if chemist was self antagging then solve that too.
Issue GB to chemist for self antag if they did destroy chem its in the same group as station sabotage so anywhere from a warning up to 15 day GB
If warden overescalated and show himself to not follow space law it could be a warning up to indef GB.
Forgot to mention if either of these situations involve me directly I would ask a headmin for permission to act.
Do you have any further notes or information we should know about you?
I don’t know what to say. I know my way around the admin tooling. I know people on goob. I play on goob kinda regularly but since I have begun contributing little bit less so.
I would like to work with a head-min on creating some common precedents that would work in tangent with the rules since they seem really vague.
I play on both LRP and MRP.
I just want to be clear If someone from admin team is concerned about me crashing out last time after my app got denied. Considering it wasn’t the only thing that negatively impacted my life at the same moment. If you want me to go into specifics of what happened in my personal life and why my crash out was so sever feel free to ask, but I won’t post it in my admin app everyone doesn’t have to know what goes on in my life outside of discord.
