Ban reason: Failed to connect to server: Connect denied: You, or another user of this computer or connection, are banned from playing here. You were banned by: "Ratissar" The ban reason is: "Since it seems that you learned ABSOLUTELY NOTHING since your last appeal only ban and continued to do the EXACT same thing after being given an unban you will be receiving a HARD VOUCHER BAN, meaning you may not put up a ban appeal until 6 months have passed and you will also need a voucher of good behavior from another known SS13/SS14 server (so no friend hosted server etc.) once these 6 months have passed you may put up a ban appeal with said voucher otherwise any appeal will be instantly denied." This ban will only be removed via appeal. You can appeal at https://forums.goobstation.com Attempts to circumvent this ban such as creating a new account will be logged.
Ban issue: I did what I was banned/noted for, but the ban is unreasonably harsh.
Events leading to the ban
I complained in Ahelp. In January I was tempBanned twice and again in February which is the current month as of writing. The current Hard Voucher ban was after February 3rd when I said something sarcastic and not helpful in ahelp so I got a “7 day ban” which was just what the server showed me when I tried to joined, likely just codeslop inherent to ss14. I checked the day before the 7 day ban ended and saw the 7 day ban was still there, but I joined February 10th the day of the unban, to see the new/real ban reason.
Reason the ban should be removed
According to the Goob Station Banning Policy, Ahelp misuse in bad faith only goes up to a 7.5day gameban, even with multipliers I don’t see how it can cross into Hard Voucher.
Under the Soft And Hard Voucher Bans section it says “Hard Voucher Bans are applied if the player receives multiple offenses after being Soft Voucher banned or if the player evades an ongoing ban.”
The ban message says I’ve been given a Hard Voucher ban because I previously had an Indefinite/Appeal ban, which according to the policy I also should never have had the indefinite, but anyways the Goob Station Banning Policy has no guidelines saying that Indefinite/Appeal bans can escalate to Hard Voucher Bans. I was improving the exact behavior I was banned for.
