Ban reason: Competence - Metafriending / As QM, watched the CE get killed by pashaskaskak (10KE) using CQC and never even reported it to security.

Length of ban: Note appeal

Ban issue: What I was banned for is not against the rules.

Events leading to the ban

Spawned as QM, did shit for a while, Pash comes back from mining and uses CQC on me but does not kill me. He sees CE in cargo who he then necksnaps. He takes their boots and loot, and brings CE to medbay. I ignore it because I literally cant do anything against CQC and its not my issue. Later, yubs tells me in ahelp I shouldve helped by “attacking pasha because you’re robust or something” and after I tell him he has CQC, yubs tells me I shouldve told sec then, which I later do on command comms. Some time later, I’m ahelped and told that i was metafriending + incompetent for my prior actions, and I was noted.

Reason the ban should be removed

He had CQC and presumably CEs comms. If I had reported it there, he would’ve killed me, and if I had said anything on comms at that time, he probably also would’ve killed me. He threatened brigmed some time later, and had killed him immediately with another syndie. He had also had threatened me later saying he wanted to kill me, so I had IC reasoning not to report it. Not to mention that later, the CE was cutting off power to cargo when we were charging SMES banks giving me yet another reason to not want to give a fuck about reporting an antagonist who, at that point, had posed no threat to me or CE anymore, as he brought them to medbay after taking their shit. The accusation of metafriending is also complete bullshit, as in the past, both I, 10KE, other players, and even other staff have just ignored antagonists when they see them doing evil shit, even to other command, because theyve been threatened or its not their issue. There has also been past cases I have ignored other players who I don’t even know, so saying its metafriending just because in this case it was a person i AM friends with makes no sense.

i didnt report ontag because i was threatened and they had guns + martial arts + comms and were IN MY DEPARTMENT so i didnt report them because it was no longer my issue after CE was brought to med and i didnt want to die

Okay, but still, leave this out of Jack’s appeal. You’re free to find another place (that isn’t this forum or the GS Discord server) to talk about it. Jack can talk their own shit if they prefer.

So you’re telling me that Jack was attacked, lives, and continues not to out them even as they go attack CE as well? Either this is the most clear cut deny ever, or we need to start looking at every case of Jack calling out an antag who attacked him on comms as metagrudging.

If his defense is that he felt threatened and thus wasn’t metafriending, why has he called out antags who had attacked him before in similar situations? Either he’s showing bias here not calling out someone he knows, or his standard is to not call out antags and thus it’s bias when he calls them out.

When I say that he “used CQC” on me, he did the non lethal combo ‘restrain’ which is just grabbing me twice. He did not harm me at all but I knew he could so I just kept quiet. Also, saying that “we need to start looking at every case of Jack calling out an antag who attacked him on comms as metagrudging” and that “yet suddenly in this one case Jack felt threatened compared to any other example”, I’d like to give a polite reminder that I DID STATE IN MY APPEAL I have ignored antags that were NOT my friends before. This is LRP, and as such it’s not expected for everyone to be treating this realistically. We literally had a JD Vance mockup assassination today. If the CE wasn’t in danger of being RR’d or some other shit then I see no reason to care, because again, this is a game and the situation had already been handled when the CE was brought to med by Pash.
