Ban issue: What I was banned/noted for is not against the rules.
Events leading to the ban
There was a lot of chaos on the station, his grace, people waltzing into the bridge, and the HoS being cryoed once everyone was rescued from his grace. The buildup to the ban was when we were suddenly attacked by a crew member with a tesla shooting weapon, firing it next to the bridge and security sector. Not only were teslas being shot toward me, but they were also being shot out of my vision around the east side of the security sector. This individual was clearly a threat to both me and other people, which provoked my act of self defense. I rushed inside the security sector and yelled at the secoffs about the hostile vox shooting teslas, when a tesla ripped through the sector and practically destroyed a good chunk of the brig. I remember seeing the brig nearly completely destroyed later on, so the first shot may not have destroyed most of it. This tesla was in my vision and was targeted toward us in the sector, which means me and the rest of the security there. Obviously, these teslas are lethal and life threatening. Since I was clearly under attack from a hostile, I defended myself from him. After the first tesla hit the secoffs, I sprinted back through the north exit and ran east to flank the vox with my chester. He hadn’t noticed me in time, which I had noticed he was still firing teslas into security and that most of the brig was now destroyed. I managed to charge behind him after turning the hallway and shot a few slugs at him, causing a struggle as he attempted to sprint forward and backward. He went down and I dragged him a few feet into the brigmedics room, where the captain told me to restrain and strip him. I find it important to note that the span of me being shot with a tesla to when I flanked the vox was around thirty seconds to a minute, an estimate. Upon stripping him, I received an admin message from Brizby which led to the ban. Hopefully the messages are read since they are logged.
Reason the ban should be removed
I was acting in clear self defense to protect my life after being attacked with a lethal weapon. I find it incredibly ridiculous how I’m apparently not allowed to defend other people’s lives as well, where the entire security department was at stake. A character should have free will to protect others and themself, however the messages between Brizby and I make it sound as if I’m brainwashed to only ever think about the command team. If I’m attacked by someone, I should rightfully be allowed to fight back. Brizby points out that the span of when I was first shot to when I flanked him was 5-10 minutes, which makes entirely zero sense. From the moment I was shot to when I flanked him was at most around a minute. I would understand it would seem like validhunting or an obvious violation of BSO’s SOP if I fought back if it truly had been ten minutes. My main point during the conversation was immediate self defense whilst Brizby’s point was that I had taken 5-10 minutes to “defend myself,” where it would then be seen as me hunting antags. There were still two occasions I was directly fired which proved an intent to murder me which responded in self defense, the initial tesla shot in the hallway above sec and below the bridge, and the tesla shot inside of the security sector.
