Ban issue: I did what I was banned/noted for, but the ban is unreasonably harsh.
Events leading to the ban
Note: At first I believed I was not at fault, but later after rethinking the whole situation, I came to a conclusion that I have misunderstood the starting event.
The situation started with me trying to break into QM’s office (as you do while tiding) to get a hardsuit. In the end I did not succeed because of budget insuls not protecting me against the electrified grid in the window. While I was standing there defeated, a security officer (whose identity I unfortunately do not remember) confronted me, saying something along the lines of “get out“ or “leave“. I did what I thought was complying by leaving the room (in my experience as a gray I usually get told to leave or knock it off even when breaking into critical rooms like HOP’s office or the bridge). As it turns out the officer meant evacuating the ripley I used in my attempt to break into the office. After leaving the room I was shot multiple times (I also started fighting back with no success). In the end I was shot into crit.
I was brought into sec where I was healed up, and let out because of me complaining about unjustly being shot and general mess on the station (I think it was a pretty serious red alert, but I did not see what was actually happening).
After that I retrieved the ripley and being mad I decided to roleplay as a gray vigilante fighting against sec unjustice and planned to crit the officer. I searched for them and used the opportunity of them getting their arms fixed at surgery I attacked with the intention to crit. While at this I called them a corrupt cop as a part of my rp. Because of my lack of experience playing as an IPC I did not know they can talk until death so I attacked until they stopped talking leading to their death.
Reason the ban should be removed
I now realize I was in the wrong by misunderstanding the officer’s command.
The ban is only 1 day long so it will expire before the conclusion of the appeal but I would like to ask you to change it into a note as I was not intentionally self antagonising, and don’t want to have it written into my permament record.
