Ban issue: The ban is fair, but it's been about a year now and I would like a second chance or reduction.
Events leading to the ban
I was having a bad day and got frustrated by the conversations happening on station. Instead of just stepping away from the round, I typed “why the fuck is everyone on this station gay” in caps, then said “i am probably homophobic i dont care.” I wasn’t thinking it through, I said it in the moment because I was pissed off. I also kept asking people if they supported the straight pin, which in hindsight was me trying to provoke people rather than ask a real question.
When I got ahelped, I got defensive and said I didn’t know what bigotry or homophobia meant. That wasn’t fully honest, I had some idea, just not a real understanding of what those words actually meant or why what I said fell under them. I said it more to avoid the conversation than to actually explain myself.
Reason the ban should be removed
It’s been about a year since the ban now, and I’ve had a lot of time to sit with what happened. I let a bad mood turn into targeting other players who weren’t doing anything wrong by just talking, and I understand why that got taken seriously and resulted in a perma. What I said wasn’t just a joke, it was homophobic, and I regret it. I also have a much clearer understanding now of why it was wrong, not just that it was.
If something frustrates me in a round again, I’ll step away or disconnect instead of reacting in chat like I did.

A few months after the ban, I made and played on janejone919 to get back on the server instead of waiting on the appeal. I did it out of impatience, not because I thought the ban was unfair, I just didn’t want to wait and made a bad call instead of doing it the right way. I’m disclosing this myself because hiding it would make it worse if I’m asking to be trusted again. I know evading was the wrong move and I should’ve just waited and appealed properly like I’m doing now.
