On average, how many hours do you expect to admin per week: A bare minimum of 15-20 hours throughout a whole week

How old are you? 18

Do you have any SS14 experience outside of Goob Station servers, or any SS13 experience? I should have a very small amount of hours on wizden back when I acted like a raider, and I had a lot of hours on an LRP/Beginner ss13 server that I forgot the name of.

Do you have prior administration experience (SS13/SS14 experience preferred, please also post a way for us to verify this)?

None, this would be my first time if given the opportunity

Have you ever been banned from any SS14 or SS13 servers?

Wizden for racist jokes in bad taste and making extremely vulgar comments to other players, thats the only time I’ve ever been banned

Detailed Questions

What role do you think game admins serve on our servers?

Game admins are meant to further and maintain all aspects of roleplay and enforce rules while keeping a neutral stance and ensure that people are immersed as possible without having their experiences ruined.

Why do you want to become an administrator for SS14?

To become more active with the people in the community and gain invaluable experiences especially since it would be my first time, I want to actually immerse people into roleplay instead of watching chud combat, and guide new players in specific positions who need help, as well as get rid of bad apples who ruin said roleplay and teach them that theres other ways to go about things that don’t include breaking the rules.

What are you primarily interested in doing as an admin?

Primarily interested in the events that admins perform to engage with the community as well as CCO/NT career trainer roleplay, as I’ve seen many new players struggle with learning things, such as tesla/singulo set ups, anom/arti maintenance, and chems. Although these problems can be looked up on their own time, its a lot easier to have someone step-by-step guide you through the process especially on specific maps.

What are you least interested in doing as an admin?

Permabanning people, despite it being very necessary (and I’m honestly glad to be permabanned since it taught me my lesson), its possibly someone misguided but rules are rules for a reason.

How do you feel about the current roleplay status on the servers?

I think roleplay is actually pretty lackluster and that’s being generous, numerous shifts where command will outright refuse to roleplay any scenarios and go willy nilly with their power. I’ve seen numerous times people get perma/DNR’d for first time crimes that they shouldn’t get that treatment for as well as people straight up ignoring their job duties to valid hunt antagonist despite the entire reason sec exist is to protect the station from present threats.

Other than banning problematic players, what admin actions do you believe have the biggest positive impact?

I believe admins create the biggest positive impact by roleplaying along with the community, by filling positions above the station (CC) that no one else can, they provide a substantial difference to roleplay, and immerse them into the corporate (hellish) landscape that is the entire context of the crew being on the station.

Have you ever had a good experience with the game or a game admin? If so, what was it?

My best experiences of being on the game are my NTR shifts, as I, contrary to popular opinion, love being the pencil pusher, I like to go around and audit different departments as well as boss around command to follow SOP. My absolutely favorite part about it is contacting CC just to chat and mess around, this is because, as stated before, it adds to the corporate landscape and adds a new layer of roleplay that is the corporate landscape between the space station and CC.

Have you ever had a negative experience in the game or with a game admin? If so, what, if anything, would you do to prevent other players from experiencing this?

Once, and only once, and that’s losing a very rigged 1v1 to Kira. It was very playful but it was rigged and I was humiliated that day, I would never stoop to such low levels if I was an admin, and would only conduct fair brawls if requested.

Scenario Questions

Scenario 1

It is the start of the round. There are 60 players on the server. The game mode is traitors, traitors have not been selected yet. There are three players who decided to observe the round instead of join it orbiting you. Two of them are encouraging you to “do something funny”.

Simply ignore them and go about my day, they are just asking for attention and if I need to, I will turn their ghost off, I’m not required to oblige them at all.

Scenario 2

This scenario takes place on LRP. The Head of Security has decided to coup the Captain. The Head of Personnel agrees with the Head of Security and has taken up arms in case it is necessary to aid in effecting the arrest of the Captain. The Captain is hiding with the Quartermaster in the cargo shuttle to avoid the Clown who has stolen the captains saber as a non-antag. There are five people named in this scenario. Please describe what actions, if any, you would take in relation to each, and why.

Firstly, is to ahelp and talk with the self-antagging clown as they’ve stolen one of the most important weapons to the captain and give them the correct punishment depending on if they’ve done harm with the saber or only stole it, then I’d gather context for the HoS and HoP coup, if the only context is the cap hiding then I’d tell them to quit it out and help the captain instead of being incompetent and trying to overthrow the cap, if they’re in the right and the captain was overstepping their boundaries, I would, post roleplay, correct the captain and tell them they’re held at a higher standard due to their position requiring more experience overall, and dish out the appropriate punishment of command incompetence if either parties have heavily negatively impacted other players during this. The quartermaster is fine they were just helping cap run from the clown using the saber.

Scenario 3

You are ahelping a player about an issue. The player has no prior noted issues. A few days earlier, an admin had told you that this type of situation should result in a temporary ban for a first offense, and you are confident that this situation is not substantially different from the type that admin was describing. During the ahelp, another admin pings you on Discord with a link to the ongoing ahelp and tells you to just indefinitely ban them and make them appeal. Excluding trialmins and headmins, all admins are equally “ranked”. A headmin is not currently available.

I would get a third admin or more to discuss it with and talk about the severity, if we get everyone’s opinion on it and reason to explain as well as talk about past punishments with this situation, then we can give the punishment after clearing up any confusion.

Scenario 4

A brand new player has joined, chosen cargo tech, and instantly rushes to get satchel charges and other salvage gear. How do you act, if at all?

I would ahelp them immediately and ask them what they’re doing and tell them to put the charges back, if they refuse to do so, I would give them a ban for NITRP.

Scenario 5

A security officer, on code blue, spots a mime breaking into EVA, in response, he shoots the mime with lethal force then takes him to medical, in cuffs. How do you act, if at all, and to whom?

I would observe the mime and deduct why they are trying to get into eva, and if they’re a plasmaman or a vox, I could suspect that they’re unable to communicate with AI and are doing their best to get a nitrogen/plasma tank. Then I would ahelp the sec and ask why they lethalled a seemingly innocent mime who can’t ask to get into EVA, if this is a first time offense, warn them, if they’re a repeat offender, then they should get a role-ban for lethalling without any escalation as sec.

Scenario 6

A chief engineer has been slacking all round, generally ignoring the responsibilities of the department, despite meteors and gas leaks happening all round. How do you act towards them, if at all?

I would look at what they’re up to, if they’re roleplaying in a different and important scenario I would leave it to the people IC to remind the CE of the problems on the station. Otherwise if they’re goofing off I’d ahelp them and start by asking them if they see the alerts going off for meteors and gas leaks. If they say they had no idea and start moving to fix them, then I believe they should be let off without punishment. However, if they shamelessly say they don’t really care about it or continue to slack off despite saying they would do otherwise, I’m in the personal opinion they should be given a roleban if they refuse to actually play the role of chief engineer.

Scenario 7

You are adminning with 2 other admins, and recieve an aHelp, you start handling it when one of the others butts in to the aHelp correct you. How do you act, if at all?

I would engage with the 3rd admin to ask them if I was actually wrong on that, and if they say they agree with the 2nd, I’ll adjust myself to be more correct. Otherwise, I’d inform the 2nd that the 3rd says otherwise and we should look for further information on how to resolve it if need be.

Scenario 8

A passenger arrives on station and starts skulking around in maints. Not preparing weapons or breaking into places, but gathering tools, insulation gloves, wires, gas mask, batteries, etc. How do you act, if at all?

I would leave it alone, assistants can refuse to get a job and as long as they don’t self-antag they’re not breaking any rules.

Scenario 9

You are playing as the HOS in-game when the only other admin online notifies you that they have to leave. Since you are an important figure, you decide to continue playing for the remainder of the round, going SSD when ahelps occur in order to deal with them. While playing, you arrest the clown for non-lethal assault against the HOP inside the medical bay. Just as you arrive at security with the clown in cuffs, you receive an ahelp from the CMO about their chemist blowing up chem. In order to investigate, you quickly hand the clown over to the warden and tell the warden to “deal with them.” While investigating the CMO’s ahelp, you then receive an ahelp about the warden beheading the cuffed clown. How do you act, if at all, and to whom?

I would resolve the CMO’s ahelp through adminning, and punish the chemist if they intended to blow up chem and weren’t any sort of antagonist. Then I would return to sec and resolve the warden beheading the clown in character, and demote the warden if necessary and leave the ahelp to the next admin that gets online as that situation actually involved me since I turned the clown over to the warden.

Do you have any further notes or information we should know about you?

I do have moderation experience OUTSIDE of ss13 and ss14, but thats only for minor roblox games and discord servers (I’m such a fat chud)

You are not 18. Reapply when you ARE.
