The reason you were banned: Shitty attitude player, not willing to see reason. Harassing admins and acting superior in Ahelp. Exclaimed I am a spoiled brat with a shitty attitude after I explained that we don’t enforce something that is a mechanical issue. Appeal when you’ve decided to act like a mature adult.
Everything that lead to your ban, give a detailed explanation; relevant information only, and do not leave anything important out: This round I rolled Thief antag as a botanist after a week of nothing but crewmember rolls, I was thrilled to be antagonist again. I picked the sabotage kit (I think that's what it's called) since one of my objectives was to steal something from the HoP, and honestly I didn't have the patience to cook up an elaborate plan, especially on a server where I wasn't sure how strict the RP culture was. Inside the kit were two C4 charges, which I promptly stashed in my backpack. To my surprise, one of them started whispering to me. I was surprised at first, but quickly figured it was someone playing a ghost role. I chatted with it a bit in the botanist's private room, and even told it to "shush" when other people were nearby, since they might overhear. Then, unfortunately for me, the C4 decided to speak up unprompted right as a security officer walked past. Under code green, the officer searched my bag, found the C4, and arrested me. I ahelped an admin and explained that, in my opinion, using an OOC game mechanic as grounds to search someone for contraband is metagaming, and that it sets a bad standard for how security operates. The conversation escalated since I was pretty frustrated that my round got ruined over a talking C4 which I couldn't do anything about, and I got heated and ended up calling the second admin a spoiled child before ragequitting the server.
Why you should be unbanned, your reasoning and anything that is pertinent to the ban/roleban appeal: I still believe my frustration was justified and that what the security officer did was metagaming. That said, taking it out on the ahelps wasn't the right decision. I should've just accepted the outcome as part of "dying is fun" (even though I didn't actually die) and moved on. I've had a week now to step back from SS14 and cool off, and I do want to apologize for offending the staff and escalating the discussion in ahelp. As for why I still think it was metagaming: in-character, there's no way to distinguish the robotic voice of a pAI from a talking C4. Realistically, within the SS14 universe, the assumption should default to "that's a pAI" rather than immediately jumping to "that's illegal contraband talking." In fact, someone else heard the C4 speak before the security officer did, and in-character they assumed it was just a pAI, which is the normal, expected assumption to make on a space station. Alas, it went how it went and I accept the outcome and would like to be unbanned.
