Ban issue: I did what I was banned/noted for, but the ban is unreasonably harsh.
Events leading to the ban
So this ban was given some time ago (17.8.2025) when I was still very new to spacestation 14 as a whole. I wasn’t really familiar with the base concept and expectations of the game, coming from competitive games such as LoL and CS:GO.
Anyway. In game it was my first time playing as security officer, I joined mid game when the crisis was ongoing. I don’t remember the exact name of the one, but where the blue shits invade the ship and eat everything/everyone. I was also fairly drunk Well as a new guy to the game and to security I was asked to go where the blue shits started to eat away, once I did the senior officer died pretty quickly to something. After that something said “Do not move here!” or something similar. Well not knowing what was happening around me I apparently did move there, and was eaten by the blue shit that was spreading. I continued to be alive, but stick in the blue goo and only able to type and not much anything else.
After that the guy who told me not to go there, who apparently was playing as a flying speaking sword or something, started to insult me repeadetly and call me “stupid as fuck idiot” for dying when I was warned. I was very new to the game so I wasn’t even fully sure what was happening around me, but we got into a fight, and well, eventually the verbal usage escalated on both sides, and as my last words before dying off I typed something that was meant to resemble a slur. And was therefore banned.
After the ban, consulting in discord I was under the impression I was permanently banned. And as someone who really enjoys Goob and would love to continue Goobing, I tried ban evading, as I wasn’t aware I could appeal. After that Marty sent me an Admin message pretty much instantly and we talked a bit and he told me I could still appeal and be unbanned, after which I told him I’ll do that and logged off and never touched that account again.
Reason the ban should be removed
The ban should be removed as that was a single incident not properly representing me as a person or as a player. Prior to that I hadn’t gotten any warnings, and when I got an admin message I was cooperative and talked with Marty who seemed pretty understanding of the situation. Overall I fully understand that behaviour like that is totally unacceptable and not tolerated. At the time I was drunk and got really angry at a flying sword spitting shit to me when I barely know what was going on. I got overly emotional and crossed a line, as I was trying to do my best in my first shift as security officer which is the role I’d like to play in the future, and getting told I’m doing shit job at it. But now I know to just let things like that be and move on, and I wouldn’t repeat my mistakes.
